Mercure Manchester Piccadilly FAM Trip!

Kirsty from Morris Conferencing attended a FAM trip to Manchester this weekend, to enjoy a packed full, enjoyable stay with the Mercure team at Mercure Manchester Piccadilly. Based right in the heart of the city, it has convenient transport links and fantastic opportunities to find what Manchester has to offer. It is definitely a city worth visiting!

On Arrival, Kirsty was greeted by the helpful staff that checked her in very efficiently so she could make her way to her room to discover more about the hotel. The rooms were nice, clean and had obviously been refurbished. When entering the room, we saw yummy chocolates as a lovely gesture to welcome us to Manchester.

Once settled, Kirsty made her way to the Arts Brasserie where she was welcomed by complimentary drinks and more of the friendly staff at Mercure, along with fellow agents from up and down the UK. A showround of the hotel was given next, which enabled Kirsty to visualise how events could be put together in this hotel. The International Suite was breathtaking with huge chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and the smaller conference rooms were just as nice due to loads of natural light and wonderful views of the city. Kirsty would happily recommend this hotel as a conference venue to one of her clients!

Sitting down for dinner was divine due to the delicious 6 course meal everyone got to indulge in. Each course was full of tasty treats but the steak was exceptionally enjoyable. Each of us also received our very own cheese board which was astonishing and also very delicious! Based on the food at the hotel, Morris Conferencing couldn’t recommend them more!

The next day, we visited a sister hotel located in Chester, The Chester Abbots Well Hotel. A modern hotel built in beautiful gardens away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, ideal for a very relaxed atmosphere. Conferences could take advantage of these gardens by having drinks on the terrace or enjoy outdoor team building activities when the weather is good. The meeting rooms were all fabulously decorated and indulged in the natural light. Kirsty could tell that delegates would be well looked after here, especially in regards to the conference lunch and waiting staff. The food was exceptional.

After being cared for by the hotel, we were put on a coach, given some champagne and off we went for a spectacular evening at Haydock Races! We enjoyed more food, more drinks, and if you were lucky, some more money in your pocket (unfortunately not for Kirsty though!). Wet Wet Wet then played a concert which set a marvellous atmosphere.

Once back at the hotel at Manchester Piccadilly, we enjoyed some midnight snacks, night caps and some friendly goodbyes to fellow agents and Mercure Staff. It was an enjoyable weekend by all and Morris Conferencing could not thank Mercure enough for looking after us the way they did. We would happily recommend both hotels as a conference venue to our clients
